I left some choice comments at some “reverse thinspo” hate videos at youtube – largely pointless, but wow, that stuff was SO horrible! They were using full images, faces and all, clearly without any permission (not that I’m sure they need it) – people laughing and having fun in cosplay, at WLS protests, swimming pools, eating, etc. Then of course the obligatory hate hate hate and “Thank God I didn’t eat today, I’m going to go purge now anyway.” It’s sad, but it’s also hateful. The thing was, like I said, in general the fat people looked like they were having a blast and enjoying themselves, while the anorexic people looked miserable and unhappy – which I guess is true.
But I said all that to say this – I think that’s a GREAT caption, and I’d like to see a lot of those. In fact, it would make a good T-shirt. I would probably wear it, though not to work.
Thanks, Annie. I did think twice before posting it, but then I went ahead — because it’s a reminder to myself as well (even if my reverse thinspo was just pictures of myself). I sometimes feel like walking reverse thinspo when out and about and thin women give me a once-over. So a T-shirt would be cool. Then again, I can never be sure. I have been known to go out in shorts with unshaven legs
